RUBYHOO

RubyHoo is a dynamic force in the Pop and Indie Rock scene, hailing from the city of Perth, Western Australia. This talented ensemble has captivated audiences with a repertoire of diverse
musical compositions, blending infectious melodies with compelling lyrics that resonate deeply with listeners.

The band made its debut in December 2022, and within months, they had orchestrated a sold-out show in Fremantle, cementing their status as rising stars. At the heart of RubyHoo is Matthew
Preston, the charismatic frontman and rhythm guitarist, whose songwriting is the beating pulse of the band. Matthew crafts melodies that are not only memorable but also emotionally evocative,
drawing from a wide array of influences to create songs that linger long after the music stops. His approach to songwriting is both introspective and collaborative, often starting with a raw idea or
riff that he then refines with the rest of the band, particularly with the help of bassist Brodie Cook.

Brodie, formerly known for his mastery of Led Zeppelin’s guitar solos, now brings his musical acumen to the bass, driving RubyHoo’s sound with a steady, powerful rhythm. His transition from
lead guitar to bass has infused the band’s music with a unique depth, where the bass lines are not just supportive but integral to the structure of the songs. Brodie’s role in the songwriting process is pivotal; he often co-writes with Matthew, adding layers of complexity and groove to the compositions. His ability to create bass lines that complement and enhance the melodies ensures that each track has a solid foundation and a distinct character.

Together, Matthew and Brodie form the creative core of RubyHoo, working in tandem to craft songs that are as dynamic as they are memorable. Their chemistry as songwriters is evident in the
way their individual contributions blend seamlessly, resulting in a sound that is both polished and authentic.

With a treasure trove of unreleased tracks, RubyHoo is poised to make an indelible mark on the Australian music scene. As their fanbase continues to grow, it’s clear that their ascent to
prominence is only a matter of time.
